The super playful foil set-up to reel off turns in a full carbon version.

Presentation

True surfers, the Curve foils are our set-ups for engaging solid curves and linking them together thanks to the instinctive rail to rail of their front wing.

Everything that makes up their shape calls for turns: a moderate aspect ratio, a tolerant profile ++, a very curved outline and a pronounced camber.

The foil is very easy to handle with a predictable feeling underfoot. The grip in curves is cut-and-dry, even through the turbulence of whitewater or when you make a mistake. And the tips rarely breach.

The perfect combo for surfing with all the classic repertoire of turns we love.

Unlike a Fluid which is more about snappy / slashy turns, the Curve foil is a foil with drive. You easily enter the curve and hold it no matter what. It’s great in surfing because you can really go for it. And it’s also great when you’re not yet surefooted: the Curve will erase / absorb your mistakes. No more hesitation when working on basic maneuvers either. You have a lot of tolerance and margins.

Relatively thin, the Curve is not a skinny front wing: it offers volume which will boost its lift and tolerance. Typically, where a thinner wing would cavitate, the Curve continues as if nothing had happened. And if you stall, it will recover right away.

In pumping you have a phenomenal gain with our new fuller profile in the upper rear third. You will glide much longer in between two pumping strokes. The Curve is not as fast as a Veloce in pumping, but it is among the easiest and most forgiving. It flies through foamy areas without shaking, even if you had a little touchdown. It really is a very simple foil to pump.

And to surf bumps or for downwinders, you can oversize the surface without compromising the ability to turn. It turns on the spot, easily exploiting all the tiny sections of bumps, allowing you to pretty much carve to optimize your flight time.

In terms of accessibility, these are the ideal foils once you know how to stabilize the flight and want to start making turns and maneuvers. It offers a lot of control and never seems like it will skid.

The potential of this foil is vast because an intermediate foiler will love it for sure, and an expert will boost its rail to rail even more by undersizing it thanks to the lift it will still develop.

The CURVE ALU foil is delivered with :
  • the CURVE front wing and the CURVE stab of your choice,
  • The V2 Carbon Mast with its 4-hole top plate (standard center distances) and its conical fuselage interlocking system for a perfect connection between the foil and the board, with absolutely no play.
  • A complete screw and spanner kit is included.
  • Everything comes in a practical compartmentalised carry case for storing and transporting your dismantled foil.

Buying guide

For whom?

You need to have an intermediate level to appreciate this Curve Foil as it’s not as forgiving at low speeds as beginner foils like the Rise is.

For what?

It’s a foil intended for high performance in surf, whatever the conditions. Its ability to turn on the spot, fly in a huge range of speeds, recover from stalls healthily, make it the major support for a modern and radical drive.

What size?

Front Wing:

The Curve wings can fit riders of all sizes.

The S has a wingspan of 74 cm, 800 cm², 1.6 cm thick for a volume of 0.66L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a small wing which will suit light riders with a very good technical level. It can also be used in tow-in in moderate waves.
  • For winging, it will suit light riders with a very good technical level or in strong winds.
  • In kite foiling, it is a reference wing, it takes off easily, excels in carving, while having an excellent top speed. It will be perfect for a confirmed kite foiler who is looking for a wing to go out in all conditions.

The M has a wingspan of 83 cm, 1000 cm², 1.8 cm thick for a volume of 0.93 L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a wing that will be perfect for light riders, or for larger riders of good level in powerful waves.
  • For winging, it is a relatively small wing, but which will suit light riders with a good level, or larger riders with a good level who will take it out in strong wind and wave conditions.
  • In kite foiling: This is a large kite for beginners who want to sail at low speed under canopy. It should be reserved for those weighing over 85kg.

The L has a wingspan of 90 cm, 1200 cm², 1.9 cm thick for a volume of 1.21L.

  • In surf foil, it will be a central front wing in the quiver of a good surf foiler.
  • For winging, the lightweights with a good level will make it their light wind front wing. It is also a key wing for downwinders.
  • In kite foiling: to forget, it’s too big.

The XL has a wingspan of 98 cm, 1400 cm², 2.1 cm thick for a volume of 1.54 L.

  • In surf foiling, it will be a perfect wing for a good surfer in small surf conditions, and a central front wing for large riders of a good level.
  • For winging, the big guys will make it their downwind front wing.
  • In kite foiling: to forget, it’s too big.

The XXL has a wingspan of 104 cm, 1600 cm², 2.2 cm thick for a volume of 1.86 L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a very large front wing which will be perfect for heavy riders, it is a perfect wing for dock starts too.
  • In wing foiling, it is a very good light wind wing which will be perfect for heavy riders, ideal for downwinders in light conditions.
  • In kite foiling: to forget, it’s too big.

General: a bigger front wing will be used in low ranges, in soft conditions. And conversely a smaller front wing in stronger conditions. What you need to remember is that the choice of your wing depends on your size, which requires lift, and your average speed, which generates lift.

Stab:

The Curve stabs are quite simple to use despite their important aspect ratio. Choose the size you usually like from GONG.

Always adjust the size of the stab to the size of the front wing for a balanced flight.

The 36 cm in wingspan, 180 cm², 0.57 cm thick for a volume of 0.06 L

  • In surf foiling, it is a stab for very light surfers or for powerful waves.
  • In winging, it means sacrificing the low end a bit, but in high end it allows you to accelerate hard and in control.
  • In kite foiling, it’s great for going fast and keeping control at high speed.

The 39 cm in wingspan, 225 cm², 0.63 cm thick for a volume of 0.08 L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a small stab for very light surfers of a good level.
  • In winging, it’s small but perfect for riders of an advanced level looking for versatility and a great low end.
In kite foiling, it’s a key stab for a lot of riders who want a mix of good top speed and maneuverability.

The 43 cm in wingspan, 275 cm², 0.69 cm thick for a volume of 0.10L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a stab that will suit the majority of medium-sized foilers.
  • In winging, it’s perfect for resourceful riders looking for versatility with a very good low range.
  • In kite foiling, it is a great stab for heavy riders.

The 46 cm in wingspan, 315 cm², 0.74 cm thick for a volume of 0.13L.

  • In surf foiling, it is a great stab for heavy foilers.
  • In winging, it is a great stab for the heavy foilers.
  • In kite foiling: pointless, it’s too big.

Mast:

Choice of : 70cm, 85cm or 100cm for wing practice.

  • Its 70cm length makes it ideal for surfing/SUP, as it’s the ideal compromise between the ability to angle in curves and the draught. But you can also use it as a kitefoil in waves or as a wing on spots with little bottom.
  • With a length of 85cm, it’s best suited to the Wing ….. But you can also use it as a kitefoil in waves or as a surf/SUP on spots with sufficient depth and downwind.
  • Its 100cm length makes it ideal for Wing and Kite surfing. This size is the ideal compromise between the ability to angle in corners without fanning out, manoeuvring margins, chop management and the angle of opposition at high speed.

Quiver partner?

The ALLVATOR V2 Curve wing foil is ideal on a high performance wing board like the Kube, Mint, Lemon or Lethal.

Positioning of the foil ?

For the GONG foils, place the plate in the middle of the US rails.

The more you move it forward, the more it makes the board pitch up. The further you move it backwards, the more the nose of the board dives.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend to forget to use the back foot, especially when we have a kitefoil background. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.

Equipments

  • 1 mast Allvator V2 carbon mast.
  • 1 fuselage ALLVATOR PRO aluminium.
  • 1 front wing Allvator Curve.
  • 1 Allvator Curve stab.
  • 1 complete screw kit with spanner.
  • 1 transport bag for the dismounted foil.

Delivery

Delivery delay

We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.

The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.

We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.

Shipping fees

Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.

Tracking your package

Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.

Carriers

We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.

For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.

For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.

Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.

Eco-responsible packaging

Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.

The most important thing is to sell quality, durable products that will be repairable and will please you for a long time.

For our shipments, we use:

  • Scotch craft paper.

  • Final packaging in high-end cardboard.

  • For rigid boards: Flexi-Hex, very high resistance ecological packaging.

This means:

  • Reusable and recyclable packaging.

  • An almost total reduction in single-use plastic.

  • Maximum protection and impact resistance for rigid boards thanks to the innovative Flexi-Hex honeycomb design (35mm thick).

Receipt of your product

Upon delivery, check the condition of your package in the presence of the carrier. A complete explanation email on the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.

Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.

Note that the products are protected in their carton. If you have any doubts, simply refuse delivery and contact us.

Warning:

The practice of the sport Foil may expose you to serious injury. A poor mastering of Foil may lead to cut, serious injury and/or including death for you and/or others.

Foil should be practiced by taking into consideration all kite user precautions that are associated with the sport Foil. Remember that a Foil is long, cutting, and reaches high speeds. Getting hit by a Foil, or hitting someone/thing can have dramatic consequences.

Always Foil far from others, in a secure and safe waterscape without obstacles.

Foil is most often practiced in light winds which may cease to blow leading you to return to shore by swimming. As a consequence do not overestimate your your strength/capacity : never go further out than your skill and swimming capacities and wind conditions allow.

Always wear a helmet and life vest for floatation. Always wear a full body wetsuit.

When handling the Foil, be careful not to cut yourself along the edges.

GONG is NOT responsable in case of any and all accidents implicating a Foil GONG. The practice of Foil is undertaken under the complete responsability of the Foil User/Practioner.

DISPUTES AND LIABILITY

GONG-GALAXY cannot be held liable for non-performance of the contract formed, on the one hand due to a force majeure event, as defined by the courts, and on the other hand, in the event of wrongdoing by the client or an unforeseeable and insurmountable act by a third party to the contract. GONG-GALAXY cannot be held liable for consequences resulting from the incorrect use of products sold on the Website.

Although our products have performances that are compatible with professional use, GONG-GALAXY does not intend to sell the professionals.

The danger in sports practised depends in large part in respecting fundamental rules for safety, priorities, and local regulations that are required for spots.

Each user of GONG-GALAXY products is responsible for making sure that he is at least covered by civil liability insurance, if necessary, by purchasing a sports license.

The rules for maintenance, use, and safety are found in the instructions for use delivered with each product. The instructions may also be downloaded by clicking on the following link or from the GONG-GALAXY.COM website. The instructions form an integral part of the scope of this contract, for which it constitutes an exhibit in and of itself. You acknowledge that you have carefully examined it.

Special statement regarding foils products

The practice of foils, in every medium, presents a special hazard. Notwithstanding the contents of the instructions for use of each product, it is imperative that a few simple rules be observed:

  • Wear a safety vest and a helmet. Foils contain areas of impact that are indispensable for their proper operation, but which present a real danger in the event of a shock. You are most exposed to this risk as a practitioner on the device. You must therefore protect yourself, consequently, using adequate equipment that meets standards. And you must protect yourself by never placing yourself in an at-risk situation. Your behaviour determines the risk you take.
  • Except for kite surf boards, equip your board, at all times, with a leash that is at least equal to the length of the board, as well as foot straps. These elements make it possible not to completely release the board in the direction of other users. Never move in a distance that is less than the length of your leash plus that of the board plus your centreboard should you fall amongst other practitioners. You must never bring a third party into this diameter which forms the area in which your activity presents risk.
  • Only practice in spots that are conducive for the activity (secure water entry, lack of shore break, regular bottom, orientation adapted the wind direction, etc.) and not frequented by practitioners of other nautical sports. A foil’s speeds require that the solo practitioner or one amongst multiple foil practitioners move in an environment where each person anticipates and has awareness of the others’ trajectories.
  • Scrupulously follow the rules of priority, especially since inertia and manoeuvrability are different from traditional media, above all for beginners. Courtesy and the sense of responsibility must be part of your practice so as not to create deviant behaviour that might lead to an accident.
  • Pay attention to the other practitioners, and generally speaking, to all users of the water body, even if they do not have priority in your area of movement (they may, among other things, underestimate your speed and your danger zone). Never practice around children or people who are unfamiliar with the sport, as their reactions might be completely unpredictable. You would be fully liable. GONG SUP will do everything in its power to alert you to the risks and explain to you the practical framework that we recommend. You cannot ignore these instructions as this would endanger you and everyone else, and jeopardize the GONG SUP brand which is a responsible company.
  • Pay attention to the water depth, since the presence of an appendage with several tens of centimetres below a beach vehicle is a new data point for a good number of practitioners, even those familiar with watersports. Breakage associated with pressure against or striking the bottom is not covered by the warranty.
  • Maintain and check your equipment regularly, and make no technical modification to it other than products and solutions sold by GONG-GALAXY. Never sharpen the trailing edges, as they would become cutting both for you and for the leash, thereby no longer holding onto the board!

It is highly recommended that you begin foil practice in an appropriate pedagogical setting, by means of an accredited club or school, that you read all of her articles on the GONG forum. This is to allow you to acquire an appropriate level of self-sufficiency and a real knowledge of the stakes in the practice of foil.
